Firefox 3 Beta 4

It’s released, and been said to gain speed boost.

I left firefox 2 for almost a year now. I only use firefox if I need to debug html or css from website using web developer add-on, which I rarely do lately. Firefox 2 is slow, eats my memory, and doesn’t blend with my others gnome applications. Firefox 3 bring the design to the new level. It implements gnome icon theme, and better design integration.

I might turn back to firefox 3, since the power of add-ons in firefox is so tempting, and bring browsing to the next level. I have to try that.

D&D is the Beginning of All

I never play the real D&D. You know, using pen and paper. But the D&D concept is always amaze me. I always enjoy playing heavily based D&D game, and Neverwinter Night is always my all time favourite D&D-based game.

Then MMO era came. The randomness brought by D&D concept is getting nearer to the real pen and paper game. You’re not playing alone against computer. You meet people from the world, creating real imitation of randomness in life.

1up.com create an article to honor the death of Gary Gygax, the creator of D&D. It turns out D&D inspires many games, not just RPG. You should check the article, Five Things We’ve Learned From D&D. Nice one :)

MS Excel as 3D Engine?

This is no easter egg or something like that. Apparently, excel could be used as 3d engine. I don’t think we will get result like Half Life, Quake, and others, but still, it’s nice to see the idea.

IE8 Will Meet Web Standard?

Hearing the news that IE8 will default to standard-compliant mode definitely suprises me. Finally Microsoft want to use the widely used standard, instead of using their own standard.

I hope IE8 just a start. I want to see more standard compliant applications.

Rambling

I’m a heavy procrastinator (word?) when it comes to doing something important. It’s always like “hey, it’s easy, I could handle this in couple hours” for almost everything I did. Well, I did manage that in couple hours, but the result is way below what I actually could do. Then I regreted it and like “damn, I wish I started earlier”.

I did practice GTD, but it always ended in another procrastination. It’s really tired to do a lot of things in very short time. I should’ve manage my time better. So, starting today, I’ll try to re-manage everything, again. I hope I could do this now.

Top 10 Classic Smartphones

allaboutsymbian.com release their top 10 classic smartphones. Not sure why they use the word classic, considering the list included Sony Ericsson W960i and Nokia N95 8GB. Both are released on 2007, classic huh?

Nice list, it has my old but great SE P800. But I’m little bit dissapointed knowing the first UIQ 3 phone, SE M600i, didn’t make the list.

The Beautiful of Modding

Modding a PC case is and always be my dream. Yes, for some people, the important thing is what inside it, not how it’s looked. But I never disagree with them. Having a beautiful PC case is definitely a must. It’s simply a personal pleasure to me.

MKmods shows you you don’t have to be rich to do casing mod
. A US$ 19 plain case could be modded into a whole different look. All you need is patient and some techie skills.
